Dr. Luis Falcon

Luis Falcón is a physician and computer scientist. He holds a degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the California State University (USA) and in Medicine from IUCS, Buenos Aires (Argentina). He has a Master’s degree in Genomics and Medical Genetics by the University of Granada (Spain).

His research interests include genomics, integrative medicine and health informatics. Dr. Falcón created the Global Exposome Project to investigate the role of the lifestyle and environment on our health. He is investigating the effect the environment (exposome) and physiological processes such as aging have on the brain microvasculature. He studies the role of certain genetic disorders and chronic inflammation in neurodegenerative diseases,  cognitive impairment and dementia. His focus is on prevention and improving the life of the patients and their families.

Dr. Falcón is a guest and keynote speaker in congresses and academic institutions around the world, including the World Health Organization, United Nations International Institute for Global Health and universities such Harvard, Kyoto, MIT and Buenos Aires, among others.

Dr. Falcón is a member of the European Society of Human Genetics (ESHG), the Human Genome Organization (HUGO), and the European Society of Integrative Medicine (ESIM).

Dr. Falcon is the author of GNU Health, the award winning health and hospital information system, declared a Digital Public Good and adopted by the United Nations, used in hospitals and research institutions around the globe.  In 2009 he founded GNU Solidario, a nonprofit humanitarian organization focused on the advancement of Social Medicine and animal rights. He strongly believes that the evolution of medicine and society must be the result of open science and a compassionate, human relevant, cruely-free research.

Luis Falcón created the Center for Precision and Integrative Health to provide the most comprehensive and personalized health care to his patients. He puts his knowledge and years of experience to identify and tackle the underlying determinants that have an effect on the health of each of us as unique individuals, from the molecular basis to the environment and lifestyle.
